Gabriel Pharand
- Bike Fitter
- Cyclist
Growing up in the outskirts of North Bay, being outdoors and active was a part of life. Being on his mountain bike in Algonquin park was a regular part of the summer months which was replaced by hockey in the winter. Throughout his junior and senior career, he was a high ranking national badminton player in Canada and only transitioned to road cycling as a way for him to keep a competitive atmosphere in his athletic lifestyle once badminton was no longer the focus.
Gabriel completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa where he found his passion to work closely with high performance athletes to optimize their recovery and allow for a timely return to sport.
Following his undergrad, he continued his studies by completing a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa. His leadership and professionalism throughout those years awarded him two academic awards and have motivated him to continue his studies by pursuing his PhD.
Gabriel is deeply passionate about preventive medicine and encouraging others to pursue an active lifestyle, an ideology shaped by the diverse athletic and academic experiences that brought him to this point.
He finds great fulfillment in keeping people moving, viewing cycling as an ideal avenue to achieve that goal. Providing services in both English and French, he aims to improve comfort on the bike and inspire greater participation in the wonderful sport of cycling.
